Bare Root Bromeliad Sale
August 4, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Members of the Seminole Bromeliad and Tropical Plant Society and garden volunteers, Sudi Hipsley and Barbara Whittier, will be selling bare root bromeliads – and sharing their expertise!
Bromeliads are some of the easiest plants to grow. You identify what light and moisture conditions they require and determine where in your landscape you can best place a few of these variable jewels. Many of the plants for sale can be found in our Nehrling Gardens landscape, along the trails and throughout the gardens. This gives the viewer a better idea how plants adapt to variable light conditions. Plant requirements range from full sun to semi shade. A few plants will be in pots. These plants are some of the hardier bromeliads found in gardens throughout Central Florida. Cold weather may cause damage but wait till early spring, cut to ground level if badly damaged and new pubs will form. Bring bags and carts, prices are reasonable. Come early and beat the heat!
All proceeds go to Nehrling Gardens. This will be a great opportunity to walk the trails and see what works. Bromeliad handouts on growing and types will be available.
