11th Annual Amaryllis Festival

Join us for our 11th Annual nature-themed free community event!  We will feature beautiful and rare amaryllis bulbs for sale as well as blooming amaryllis and other plants for the holidays. There will be nature-themed vendors, food, music, and crafts for the children. The list of participants and activities include:

• Nehrling Gardens – Blooming and boxed Amaryllis, a variety of garden plants and holiday items in the giftshop
• Amaryllis Spectacularis – Unique and rare Amaryllis bulbs
• Air plants, succulents and bromeliads – perfect for holiday gifts
• David Bloodgood Pottery – Unique, hand-thrown glazed pots and other items
• Backhaus German bakery & deli – German sandwiches and traditional German baked treats
• Avian Reconditioning Center Birds of Prey – visit with the Owls and Raptors from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm
• Program on Culture, Care & Hybridization of Amaryllis by Theresa Schretzmann-Myers at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm
• Kids eco-activities and eco education by the Dragon bamboo
• Holiday Music

We will have raffle drawings, photo spots throughout the gardens and live birds of prey from the Avian Reconditioning Center (including the much loved OWL AMBASSADORS) by the lakefront. Please remember to bring  a non-perishable food item or an unwrapped toy for a chance to win a family fun basket, and help a local charity in need.
