Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Nehrling Gardens! Our volunteers are the heart of our organization, helping preserve this historic property while creating a welcoming space for the community to learn, explore, and connect with nature.
Whether you enjoy gardening, working with people, organizing events, or lending a helping hand behind the scenes, we'd love to have you join us.
Our regular volunteer days are Wednesday mornings and every Saturday from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. We also reach out to volunteers when additional opportunities become available.

We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds, including:

- Students (accredited community service hours available)

Ways to Help
Volunteer Opportunities
Choose from garden care, historic home projects, event support, administrative tasks, or board service. Every opportunity helps preserve Nehrling Gardens and create a welcoming place for the community.
Garden Volunteers
Help care for our beautiful gardens by assisting with:
- Weeding
- Planting
- Mulching
- Raking
- Clearing brush
- General landscape maintenance
Historic Home Projects
Project-based opportunities may include:
- Carpentry
- Painting
- Masonry
- Cleaning
- General maintenance
- Construction support
These projects are scheduled as needed and coordinated in advance.
Administrative & Event Support
Help support the mission of Nehrling Gardens through:
- Event planning
- Fundraising
- Marketing & social media
- Data entry
- Public relations
- Grant writing
- General office support
